Songwriters + Audience Choir + Improvising Backing Band = MAGICAL MUSICAL JOURNEY
This special edition of the Songbuilders’ Soiree will be at Sacred Nectar Sanctuary. Towards the end of Songs in the Woods, a 6 day songwriting retreat, we will be hosting an open-to-the-public evening of festivities — including a Songbuilders’ Soiree!
Featuring a special band, including Nate Shaffer, Co-facilitator of Songs in the Woods Ben Levin, and more visiting artists and Soiree Band Regulars
—> 150 amazing humans, gathering to sing their hearts out, connect and get down on the summer solstice!
—> Convening in a whimsical warehouse for our unique format, hi-lighting vulnerability and spontaneity: songwriters get on stage with freshly written songs, supported by an amazing improvising house band, and we include YOU, the audience choir, to round out the arrangement of these songs. We’ll be gathering beforehand for a potluck; there’ll be sauna + a ticketed dinner + campfire jams + rabblerousing around the BEAUTIFUL land afterwards, just in time for sunset 8:30pm
—> Saturday June 20th, potluck starts 3:30 (you can arrive a bit before then to set up / warm up your food). Ending is up to you: you can head home, camp overnight, or even stay another day — and sing on some recordings happening for Songs in the Woods.

🎶🎵 STAYING OVER + SUNDAY SINGING 🎤🎶🎵 YES you can camp and/or come back on Sunday! We’ll be RECORDING a handful more songs written by folks during the Songs in the Woods retreat. Maya Bialik, our wonderful Soiree Conductor will be directing the choir for this! Come hang out and sing :)
🍳FOOD 🧃 Please bring food to the potluck! There will be limited outlets to heat food up, and potentially a grill to use. Meal ticket prices below (esssentially $10 per meal). Meal tickets MUST be purchased ahead of time: we are in a remote location and the Nourishment Mama will not be making extra food.
The food was aimed to be affordable, but if you’d rather BYOF throughout, you are welcome to stay and not pay for meals.
VOLUNTEERING 🙏😊 We have need for volunteers! 💖 This includes photo, video, potluck set up + clean up, kitchen shifts. We welcome volunteers out of the desire to serve and connect, and also will offer in exchange for ticket prices. Reach out! ⛺ CAMPING ⛺ YES, you can camp out. Camping costs an $20, and includes sauna for the next day.
